Lamb To The Slaughter

I think Lamb To The Slaughter is an interesting book which everything suddenly change at the ending.Mary Maloney was a written as a good-house keeper and an almost-perfect wife who was totally in love with her husband,Patrick Maloney.Bliss for her was the quiet times she and Patrick spent together sharing a drink, which shows that she is very easily contented.However,being too submissive trying to do the right thing at the right time,she was taken for granted by Patrick,who is probably leaving her for another woman.That probably triggers the drastic step Mary takes.After killing Patrick with the leg of a lamb, the way she executes her plan to prevent the police from tracking her down makes her come off as a dangerous person.

Male Child

I think the story Male Child, the husband was very superstitious and believed he was plagued by a curse of not having any male child.All the seven children he has were all female.When his wife was pregnant again,he asked the two oldest daughters to help out with the household chores as the pregnancy has made task difficult for his wife to complete and girls should learn how to do the household chores.The husband badly wanted a male child so he tried to undo his sins for example,eating beef on the day when they had to be vegetarian for a day.To make up for that sin, he become a vegetarian for a whole day eating only vegetables and not eating the dishes his wife cook for him.One day,the husband's cousin bring him along to a whorehouse to have a drink inside and the husband immediately fallen in love with one of the woman there.The woman would not agreed to marry the husband unless he divorce with his current wife.He was put into a difficult position and finally,agreed with his current wife that if the child she's bearing is not a male,than he would divorce her and marry the woman in the whorehouse.So in the end,from wanting a male child ,he wanted a female one so he could divorce his current wife and marry the one in the whorehouse.

Love

Its about one woman and a man loving each other and thought their love were true and were true to each other.The woman who have been in and out of love lots of time think she finally found her man.She has meet the man's mother a few times already but never his father as the man claims his father to be sick.And those times she met his mother, his mother was always running to and fro to take care of his father and have completely no time to entertain her.She eventually become engaged but the marriage was eventually canceled when the woman saw the man's father,mentally ill and acted like a child and because it was hereditary,it made the woman wondered if she would spent her whole life when she was old to take care of the man like the way the man's mother takes care of the man's father.And the woman went back to her ex-boyfriend and asked for forgiveness and if they could restart their relationship and be married.For the man,he was heart-broken.So in the end it turns out that the woman did not love the man as much as she say she does as she was not willing to take care of the man when he is ill.
