Book review(2)-Moby Dick (Herman Melville)

Moby Dick is about a guy (Ishmael) joining a whaler in its adventure to catch a gigantic whale.The ship's captain(Ahab) lost one of his arm while trying to catch it and he wants his revenge.The story shows us how the sailors catch whales and use the oil of the whale to

create soap(Ya I know,disgusting AND cruel)while captain Ahab focuses on his own selfish quest to hunt Moby Dick down and have his revenge instead of thinking of the safety of the sailors.

In my opinion,Moby Dick is interesting as its shows me how a whale managed to fight back a whaler and win. While reading this book, I feel happy as animals can save themsleves from the wrath of some people. I feel that Ahab deserves to die,not just losing one arm , and in the end....^^the Moby killed Ahab and its makes me feel happy.^^Herman Melville imagination and writing skills are so great that it allows readers to picture what is happening in the stories , and if you can not understand, the are pictures in the book to help you!(Thats for my book.I do not know about yours)

Book Review-Chinese Cinderella(Adeline Yen Mah )

In this vivid autobiography by Adeline,she describes her life, struggles and how she comes to be accepted by her family at the time of the Cultural Revolution in China. As her mother dies giving birth to her, Adeline becomes a symbol of bad luck to her family. Loathed by her stepmother ( Adeline tried to stop her when she was scolding her young daughter for not acknowledging her as they were separated for a long time due to the Japanese Occupation in Tianjin)and ignored by her father, she struggles through childhood unloved and unwanted. But Adeline is an outstanding student who lives with the hope that someday she will be able to live out her dreams.I like Chinese Cinderella as at the end, when Adeline came back from London (she make her father proud by being first in an essay writing competition and when she ask her father whether she can go to London to study, her father readily agree ) after completing her studies, she than knew that her father had died and had left her out of the will. But the truth is that her stepmother did not want anyone to look at her father's will and thus Adeline never will know whether her father really like her or not.It leaves us wondering and I always like these kind of stories endings.

Feeding my fish

As you can see at the side of my blog there are fish swimming there.

Please help me feed them by clicking your mouse in the white space.

You can overfeed them as they would not die but that will show your cruelty towards animals as you will try to overfeed an animal and cause it to die(animals can die due to overfeeding).

Becoming a member of SPCA! :)

My brother from another school had an assembly and a team from SPCA came to have a talk with them.They then pass a form down to everyone and those who wanted to become a member can apply themselves.When my brother went home, he asked me whether I wanted to become a member.I,being someone who liked animals a lot especially dogs,wanted to become a member.I immediately photocopied the form and apply for the membership which causes $10 for youth from 12years old to 15 years old if I did not remember wrongly.Only today did I receive the membership card and the badge.I am so happy as they will send email to my brother and I for community-involvement-programme (CIP) and I will soon have a lot of CIP hours :)

Reason for not posting up oftenly for Term 2

I forgot my password for this account. Feel so worried because Mrs Anuradha, my teacher says that everybody will need at least 5 posts for this term. Anyway, I found my password at last after such a long time. So pardon me for not posting up frequently. XD
